Went to Thailand on 3 Nov 2011 despite the once in 50 yrs flood.

Interviewing the tourists and their reasons for going Thailand
despite the floods.

Tourist 1 (Stingy Teo): "I will rather drown in the flood
than forego the cost of the air tickets!!!"

Tourist 2 (Blur Sotong Teo): "I dunno how to access the internet

and make changes to the hotel reservations.  I tell you, It's all so complicated. 

All the computers just freeze and explode when i touch them.  Did i tell

you my greatest achievement in life?  I just learnt how to use internet banking!"

Tourist 3 (Diety Lim) : "I have a secret agenda for coming here.

I am hoping to repeat my half-month diarrhoea slimming regiment when

i came here the last time.  Floods?  Isn't it better?  Maybe I'll catch cholera

and slim down through the constant lao-sai-ing!"

Tourist 4 (Baby Littlewood) : "Bus bus bus bus bus bus bus bus bus...."
(Obviously too young to remember and know anything)

Tourist 5 (Alcoholic Teo): "Floods?  What floods?  Some more
volka. Hippcup!  Wow!? I have twelve fingers.....  Hippcup!"
(Obviously to drunk to care and bother with the floods)

The rest of the tourists simply have no voting rights and any say
in this trip and were either cajoled or coerced into it....
And so the journey begins.....

Cathay Pacific flight CX 712 departing at 2 pm and arriving at 3.30 p.m (Thai)
Rushed to "Bell travel" for the bus to Pattaya leaving at 4 p.m at 200 Baht each.

Discovery Beach Hotel at Pattaya....

Extra bed added at cost of 1000 baht/night (inclusive of buffet breakfast)

Our customary habit of taking photos once we step into the room for

show and tell.  Here we can see Tourist No 2 giving us the stare....

Went to a food court for dinner on the first night where they employ

cashless payment system.  Since I am in Thailand, might as well grab a

tasty bowl of Tom Yam.  Found one stall with Tom Yam noodles on display.

The displayed food looks something like this.  Mouthwatering!!!

The actual food :

& there is no taste of tom yam at all.  Just enough chilli to numb and

burn your tongue into tasting nothing.  yucks!

The next day:

Buffet breakfast at the Discovery Beach hotel.

Good but not as good as the one in Novotel Bali.

Walked to Big C Shopping Centre.  (The renamed Carrefourre)

Tired and sweaty and exhausted, we originally planned to return

to the hotel to wash up and change into something more presentable before

proceeding to Hilton for the lunch buffet.  But what the heck, we are tourists

and who cares?!

Took a baht bus there. (10 baht each)

Proudly going into "The Edge" in 2 dollars asaki slippers, berms and

old t-shirts while carrying plastic bags of goodies in.  The perfect attire

for telling people that RICH PPL LIKE US DUN CARE wat u think.  Hahaha. 

(But sadly I'm referring to rich in imagination and not actual wealth....)

I am just going to combine both days of the buffet lunch at Hilton here.

Back to the dinner on the 2nd night.

Some streetstall food.  YUMMY!!!

CHEAP & GOOD.  I can taste the lard....

Funny, I was just thinking about making some lard a few days

before going for the trip. :)

Street stall No. 2 on the third night.  Yummily good too!

Unfortunately, Diety Lim did not get the diarrhoea she was hoping for

from the street food.  We promise we will try harder next time to give her

food poisoning.

Our Suite at the Four Seasons Place where i stayed from the 4th to the 8th.

It's almost as big as my house!!!  It comes with a kitchen, 2 toilets and even

a study room.

Microwaved food after we are all too full for a proper dinner yet still need to grab a bite

after the Hilton buffet lunch.

 

Can't remember the place.  Can only remember it being the same building as the

place we had lunch Marche style and where the Ripleys exhibits are housed.

But the photo above is a constant reminder why the blog is private in case the

pic of such a pose gets leaked out.

Went to Jomtien beach on the 7th Nov.



Dog at the beach.  Gave it a neck massage and removed a tick from it.

The other good deed i did is i released a trapped pigeon in the locked

hotel air-con condenser room. 

Was hoping for those traditional Thai Beef noodles but got this

version instead.... Sigh....

Jap food at Figi or Fuji restaurant.  This set costs like S$6 only.

Both Tourist 1 and Tourist 4 giving the same stoned look while eating.....

FINAL DESTINATION!!!!
